Truecopper.com, committed to providing Copper based surfaces that can kill 99.9% of bacteria* within 2 hours, when cleaned regularly.
On February 28, 2008, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) certified Copper alloy as an anti-bacterial material. The results of the EPA's certification of Copper is as follows:
- This surface continuously reduces bacterial* contamination, killing 99.9% of bacteria*, within 2 hours of contact, when cleaned properly.
- This surface provides continuous/ongoing/persistent antimicrobial action even with repeated exposures.
- This surface continuously kills bacteria* after repeated exposures during a day.
- This surface inhibits the buildup of disease-causing bacteria* within 2 hours of exposure between routine cleaning and sanitizing steps.
- This surface delivers continuous, long-lasting antibacterial* activity.
The use of a Copper Alloy surface is a supplement to and not a substitute for standard infection control practices; users must continue to follow all current infection control practices, including those practices related to cleaning and disinfection of environmental surfaces. The Copper Alloy surface material has been shown to reduce microbial contamination, but it does not necessarily prevent cross-contamination.
True Copper surfaces immediately begin to kill bacteria on contact. It's anti-microbial properties are even effective on E. Coli* and MRSA*. By using copper for everyday touch surfaces, they continually provide antibacterial activity and self sanitize, killing 99.9% of bacteria within 2 hours, when kept clean.
